We have developed an electronic information system for recording and mapping of fungi in Slovenia. We named the information system Boletus informaticus and includes a web, mobile and desktop application. All applications are intended for the citizen scientists, professional and general public. To use the application, you must register with a valid email address. It is intended for field data collection with a smart device that includes a GPS sensor and a digital camera. This allows us to automatically capture the location (exact coordinates) and the photo, which greatly facilitates and speeds up the data entry. Thus, only the manual selection of the species from the drop-down list is left to the user. The mobile application Boletus informaticus basically works offline. The exchange of data with the central server takes place at the request of the user when it is connected to the Internet and is performed by the synchronization process. The application was created in authors free time. The database and Web application is hosted on the servers of the Slovenian Forestry Institute.
